| The PETRONAS Performing Arts Group (PPAG) was established in 1990 with the objective of developing, documenting, preserving, promoting and performing traditional and contemporary Malaysian music and dance. An 18-piece music ensemble working with over 50 choreographers, dancers and support staff, the PPAG stages over 50 performances annually in Malaysia and abroad.
With one of the most extensive dance theatre repertoires in the country, including rare dance forms like the Mak Yong and royal Malay court dances, the PPAG has been instrumental in innovating cross-cultural hybrid performance arts that fuse traditional and modern multi-ethnic influences. |
