ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital
ORBIS is a non-profit humanitarian organisation devoted to blindness prevention and treatment in developing countries.
At the heart of ORBIS’ sight-saving work is the Flying Eye Hospital, a DC-10 wide-body aircraft converted into a state-of-the-art teaching and treatment facility that has serviced more than 75 countries since 1982.
PETRONAS has sponsored fuel for the aircraft that has carried many of the world’s leading surgeons who contribute their time to perform surgery and teach aboard the aircraft in programmes specifically designed to suit the needs of host countries.
