Technology Solution For Thermal Oxidizer Flue Gas SOx Emission Reduction

BACKGROUND OF THE CHALLENGE

Many countries have put in place, various legislations that govern air emission limits/pollutants from the industries. The common pollutants being monitored are Sulphur Oxides (SOx), Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), particulate matters, dioxins and furan. In Malaysia, the regulatory requirement aims to regulate emissions of air pollutants from industrial activities including oil and gas, power plants, waste fuel plants and asphalt mixing plants.

Winner: Jiangnan Environmental Protection Group Inc (JNG)

Technology Solution For Thermal Oxidizer Flue Gas SOx Emission Reduction

PETRONAS found Efficient Ammonia Desulfurization (EADS) proposed by Jiangnan Environmental Protection Group Inc (JNG) to be the most suitable solution where the technology is capable to reduce Sulphur Oxides (SOx) level to more stringent requirement.

In Malaysia, the regulatory requirement aims to regulate emissions of air pollutants from industrial activities including oil and gas, power plants, waste fuel plants and asphalt mixing plants. Limiting sulfur oxides emissions reduces air pollution and results in a cleaner environment.

Upon comprehensive assessment by a panel of internal subject matter experts in PETRONAS, JNG triumphs over many other encouraging participations from both local and international companies.

Once again, PETRONAS applauds Jiangnan Environmental Protection Group Inc and our heartiest gratitude to all participants for your continuous support in the PETRONAS Technology Challenge.
