Lawas, 8 May 2019 - PETRONAS confirms that a vent stack at BV106 (KP122) of Sabah Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP) caught fire at about 0108 hours on 8 May 2019, in Lawas, Sarawak.
Our Emergency Response Team was immediately mobilised to control the situation and the fire was successfully put out at 0238 hours.
All necessary measures have been taken to ensure the incident area is secure and safe.
All relevant authorities have been informed and an investigation on the incident is being carried out. There were no injuries or casualties reported.
In addition, PETRONAS will continue to engage with the communities around the incident area and is closely monitoring the situation.
PETRONAS adheres to stringent safety measures in line with international standards at its areas of operations.
