Yuchai PETRONAS Lubricants Co Ltd Lauches New State-Of-The-Art Research & Development Centre

19 March 2015, China - The President of Yuchai Group, Mr. Yan Ping, together with the Group Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Lubricants International, Mr. Amir Hamzah Azizan recently launched the Guangxi Nanning Yuchai PETRONAS Lube Co., Ltd, Research & Development Centre (R&D) with the unveiling of a plaque at the site.

This marked the official opening of this state-of-the-art R&D Centre in Nanning Science & Technology Industrial Park. Joining the momentous milestone were senior management from Yuchai and PLI as well as the joint venture company between the two organisations.

Built over a 1,000 square meter area, the new R&D Centre is located within the Yuchai Engineering Research Institute in Nanning, a state-accredited national engineering laboratory providing leverage of shared resources to the new R&D Centre.

The construction of the R&D Centre was divided into three phases, which follows stringent international compliance standards.

The showroom located on the first floor of the R&D Centre showcases the company’s history and its innovative products. Above that, on the second floor, it houses the physics and chemistry research laboratories with well-equipped state-of-the-art facilities covering approximately 30 test facilities of laboratory equipment.

The Company adopts internationally recognised standards when implementing its research by adopting the ASTM International Standard, in addition to a comprehensive project management mechanism in place. The R&D Centre is capable of carrying out approximately 40 kinds of phisico-chemical and tribological tests.

Benchmarked against international standards, the Guangxi Nanning Yuchai PETRONAS Lube Co., Ltd, R&D Centre was conceptualized and built to complement the existing Bei Hai R&D Centre to drive tangible results for the company’s approach in co-designing engines and engine oil.

Through the new R&D Centre, Yuchai’s advanced engine technology and PETRONAS’ Fluid Technology SolutionTM can be integrated seamlessly for strongersynergy.
