Organic acid corrosion prevention & mitigation for carbon steel topside piping & equipment (TC11)

2021 Success Stories - 21 Jun

Pain Points:

High-pressure full well streams experience accelerated corrosion (especially CO2) due to organic acids. Carbon steel is vulnerable at low pH (<5), and current mitigation is insufficient

Requirements:

A highly effective, innovative solution is needed to robustly prevent/reduce organic acid corrosion in high-pressure petroleum systems, function below pH 5, and extend carbon steel equipment lifespan.

Winner:

No Winning Solution: Despite numerous submissions, no solution met the stringent requirements for effectively addressing organic acid corrosion in high-pressure petroleum systems.
