Local Project

In Malaysia, we have more than 104MWp of solar assets in operation and under development

We power utility companies, one of the largest hypermarket chain in the country, fabrication yard, research complex, universities and many more in the country

01 - Gebeng Solar IPPrsz-01.jpg

Project: Project Voltages Renewables Snd Bhd
Location: Gebeng Industrial Area Phase 3, Kuantan, Pahang,Malaysia
Capacity: 10.02MWp
  • Tenaga Nasional Berhad “TNB” has signed the Renewable Energy Power Purchase Agreement “REPPA” with the company on 31 May 2013 under Malaysian Government Feed-in-Tariff “FiT” mechanism. The solar plant has achieved two Commercial Operation Dates “COD” on 24 November 2013 and 21 January 2014.

02 - Suria KLCCrsz2-01.jpg

Project: Suria KLCC
Location: Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Capacity: 685kW
  • Utilizing the Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) scheme, the Suria KLCC project was Malaysia’s largest single Solar PV Installation on a shopping mall rooftop. This project has also won first runner-up in the Commercial Based On-Grid Category of the prestigious Asean Energy Award 2013. The energy generated from this system supplies 30 per cent of Suria KLCC’s energy requirement and helps lower greenhouse Carbon dioxide gas emission by approximately 360 tonnes annually.

Early Projects

07 - PETRONAS Researchrsz-01.jpg

Project: PETRONAS Research Snd.Bhd (PRSB)
Location: Kawasan Institusi Bangi, Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia
Capacity: 624kW

08 - PGB Officersz-01.jpg

Project: PETRONAS Gas Berhad Seremban Regional Office
Location: Sungai Gadut, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia
Capacity: 143kW

09 - PETRONAS Hartamasrsz-01.jpg

Project: PETRONAS  Stations Nationwide
Location: PETRONAS Solaris Putra, PETRONAS Rawang, PETRONAS Sungai Buluh Lay By, PETRONAS Ulu Bernam. PETRONAS Sri Hartamas
Capacity: 143kW
PETRONAS has installed solar capacity worth 893 kW at 7 sites which includes PETRONAS Research Snd.Bhd (PRSB), PETRONAS Gas Berhad Seremban Regional Office and 5 PETRONAS petrol stations nationwide. Energy generated at these sites will potentially reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 713,000 tonnes which equates to planting 133,000 trees or powering 290 households. In addition, it translates to cost savings of 20 to 40 per cent for electricity bills at these sites.

MMHE Project

10 - MMHErsz-01.jpg

Project: Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings (MMHE) Berhad
Location: West Yard, Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia
Capacity: 8.3 MW

The MMHE Project is Malaysia’s Largest Rooftop Solar Installation in a single compound which was installed by M+ by PETRONAS where the agreement will run for 21 years until 2042. Utilising the SELCO scheme, the 18,720 units of solar PV panels with a total size of 440,496 square feet (sq ft) will provide energy for 8 buildings at MMHE West which will collectively generate an estimated 10,000-megawatt hours (MWh) of clean energy annually. This amounts to 132,000 tonnes of carbon emissions reduced throughout the 21 years which is equivalent to planting 2 million trees.

UTP Project

11 - UTPrsz-01.jpg

Project: University Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP)
Location: Seri Iskandar, Perak, Malaysia
Capacity: 7.3 MW

The UTP Solar Site which utilizes the Net Energy Metering (NEM) scheme is also another internal project done by PETRONAS and is on track for its completion by end of 2021. Upon completion, the UTP project is expected to be the largest single solar rooftop in South-East Asia.

PRPC - Phase 1

12 - PRPCrsz-01.jpg

Project: PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation (PRPC) Sdn Bhd Phase 1
Location: Pengerang, Johor, Malaysia
Capacity: 49.73 MW

PRPC-Phase 1 utilizes the SELCO scheme to generate clean energy. . This ground-mounted solar project is expected to receive a Commercial Operation Dates “COD” on Q1 2022. This will be the largest SELCO plant in Malaysia.
