A​​​lmost 2 months post visit by the Minister of Oil & Gas, Oman, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Rumhi,  the Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) played host to the delegation from Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Company LLCI on 7 October 2019.

​​​The delegation led by Deputy Project Director, Project Management, Mr Yousuf Al Jahdhami and accompanied by Manager of  Oman Ventures, JV International, Encik Husni M Raof were accorded a warm welcome by Head of Stakeholder Management, PRPC, Encik Asrul Affendie B Hasnul as well as various other representatives from PETRONAS and PRefChem.  The visitors commenced their one day working visit with an insightful  project briefing followed by a guided site tour with a “pit” stop at the Solid Product Warehouse.  The tailor made program for the day allowed the visitors to understand the journey of PIC  as well as witnessing the massive undertaking firsthand.  The highlight of the day was the stop over at the Solid Product Warehouse which features an innovate Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) technology is also South East Asia’s first fully automated clad-rack warehouse built for the petrochemical industry with the capability of holding 21-day storage of inventory or total tonnage of 127 kilotonnes of polymer product.

​​​The delegates were both impressed and in awe of the various procedures and guidelines implemented along the 5 long years in making PIC a reality.  The delegates thanked the team for sharing the various best practices which will be invaluable to their own journey of making the Duqm Refinery which is 31% complete as at July 2019 with a refining 230,000 bpd of crude oil per day  to form the cornerstone of the Duqm Special Economic Zone essentially Oman’s next industrial centre.
