KERTIH, 20 September 2025 - PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB) confirms that a gas leak incident occurred at its pipeline located near Kampung Chabang, Kertih Terengganu, on 20 September 2025 at 0950hrs.
Our utmost priority at this point is safeguarding the safety and well-being of the surrounding community.
The leak area is not located within any residential or village area, with the nearest main road approximately 2km away from the site. As an initial precaution, everyone in the vicinity has been safely evacuated and the site cordoned off to restrict public and worker access, with personnel stationed to monitor the area. The situation is under control and there is no cause for alarm.
Continuous monitoring is being carried out with the affected pipeline being isolated. All relevant stakeholders have been informed and the gas supply to customers remains uninterrupted as delivery continues through a loop line within the network.
We are cooperating fully with the local authorities in managing the situation, and further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
