PETRONAS Brings Together Industry Players at OGSE Partners Day

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 August 2023 – PETRONAS recently hosted the Oil and Gas, Services and Equipment (OGSE) Partners Day with the local vendors as a platform to collaborate and foster a resilient and sustainable OGSE ecosystem.

The one-day event saw over 1,000 key industry players and stakeholders exchanging ideas and exploring innovative solutions that would be able to further strengthen the Malaysian oil and gas industry and be ready for the global energy transition.

PETRONAS Vice President of Group Procurement, Freida Amat said, “The event is part of our commitment to strengthen Malaysia’s OGSE ecosystem for vendors to grow and become regionally and globally competitive players, while contributing to the nation’s economic growth.”

In his keynote address, Malaysian Oil, Gas and Energy Services Council (MOGSC) President Ts. Syed Saggaf Syed Ahmad encouraged industry associations to play a major role in sharing their expertise and knowledge for a collaborative industry.

He said, “A strong collaboration across industry is essential to sustain Malaysian oil and gas production target and ensure the industry ecosystem remain resilient and competitive that includes project delivery excellence, OGSE performance and integrated resources. “

At the event, 20 exhibition booths were set up by participating industry players such as government agency Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC), Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (SEDA), Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) and Peneraju Bumiputra (TERAJU) as well as by financial institutions namely Bank Islam, Bank Muamalat, UOB Malaysia, Maybank and RHB to assist vendors under PETRONAS’ Vendor Financing Programme.

PETRONAS continues to play its role in supporting the Government’s efforts to bolster the country's economic growth. The collective effort from industry stakeholders, financial institutions and government agencies will create a supportive ecosystem that attracts, trains, and retains skilled workers in the industry to ensure sustainable, long-term growth.
