PETRONAS Undertakes Measures to Maintain Gas Supply to Customers

2026 Media Release - 1 Oct

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 October 2026 – Trans Thai-Malaysia (Thailand) Limited (TTM), the joint venture between PTT and PETRONAS, has initiated a temporary shutdown of the Songkhla Export Pipeline following an issue identified during a routine inspection. The shutdown is a precautionary measure to protect the integrity of the pipeline and ensure safe operations.

PETRONAS recognises the impact this may have on the gas supply to customers in Malaysia and Thailand, and proactive measures are being taken to ensure continuity to customers in Malaysia.  PETRONAS' integrated supply network provides the flexibility to sustain supply, and the company is working closely with its partners and customers to maintain system stability.

The pipeline will resume operations only once it has been confirmed safe to do so.

PETRONAS remains focused on upholding the highest standard of safety and operational integrity, even as it ensures the reliability of supply to domestic customers in support of Malaysia's energy security.
