Prime Minister of Malaysia to Address Policymakers and Global Leaders at Energy Asia 2025

Kuala Lumpur, 27 May 2025 – The Honourable Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia is set to deliver a keynote address and officiate Energy Asia 2025 scheduled to take place on 16 to 18 June at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The Prime Minister will lead a delegation of Malaysian Ministers and joined by their regional counterparts, policymakers, industry leaders and energy professionals as well as leaders from the technology, financial and industrial communities addressing this year’s Conference themed, ‘Delivering Asia’s Energy Transition.’

Following the launch of Energy Asia, the Prime Minister will engage in the Opening Plenary titled, ‘Asia’s Energy Future,’ chaired by Dr. Daniel Yergin, Vice Chairman S&P Global & Founder of CERAWeek. The leadership dialogue will focus on the impact of geopolitical dynamics, alliances and risks, Malaysia’s vision as ASEAN Chair and the country’s role in Asia’s energy transition.

Energy Asia by PETRONAS and Knowledge Partner, CERAWeek by S&P Global aims to advance the region’s net-zero ambitions through actionable solutions for a just energy transition.

The Conference is set to showcase more than 180 globally renowned speakers and attract over 4,000 delegates from across 50 countries.

Industry leaders speaking at Energy Asia include His Excellency Haitham Al Ghais, Secretary General, Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries; Amin Nasser, President & Chief Executive Officer, Aramco; Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman of the Board and CEO, TotalEnergies; and Montri Rawanchaikul, Chief Executive Officer, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited.

Through more than 50 strategic dialogues spanning seven sub-themes, Energy Asia will examine the collaborative efforts across Asian nations that can enhance energy security, promote renewable energy adoption, deploy decarbonisation solutions, facilitate technology transfer and catalyse economic and socio-economic development.

Meanwhile, the Energy Park, serves as the centre of technology and innovation programming at the Conference and will showcase transformational technology platforms in energy and adjacent industries.
