PETRONAS was named 1st runner-up in the Smart Digital Reality category at the Hexagon Elite Awards 2025.  The prestigious recognition was awarded for the Augmented Engineering Review (AER) solution, a collaborative innovation within Projects, Technology & Health, Safety, Security and Environment (PT&HSSE). 

AER is a digital solution that automates engineering data validation by leveraging codified knowledge and insights from past projects, accelerating review time by up to 80 per cent while enhancing data quality and minimising rework. Achieving 99 per cent accuracy during pilot testing, the solution enables engineers to focus on design optimisation and stands as a testament to PETRONAS’ commitment to digital excellence and cross-functional innovation. AER is now a benchmark for smart engineering reviews across the industry.

PETRONAS was honoured to receive the Malaysia Operational Innovation of the Year – Oil and Gas Award at the Asian Innovation Excellence Awards 2025 in recognition of our 007: Enterprise AI Agent Programme, an initiative that applies agentic AI workflows to advance operational processes and productivity. 

The initiative has positioned PETRONAS to scale AI-driven innovation across the Group, reinforcing our commitment to digital transformation.

Since its launch in June 2025, the citizen-led programme has sparked more than 600 new ideas, leading to 100 high-impact initiatives and the deployment of 40 AI agents built by in-house experts to automate workflows, reduce downtime and accelerate delivery timelines.

PETRONAS Chemicals Group was recognised with multiple awards by the Institut Kimia Malaysia, reflecting strong technical capability and high standards in laboratory practices across the organisation. 

For PETRONAS Chemicals Fertiliser Kedah, this marked the fifth consecutive year of receiving the Excellence Award, underscoring its technical capability, high professional standards, and sustained performance in quality laboratory practices. 

Collectively, these accolades reinforce stakeholder confidence in the integrity of PETRONAS’ testing, research and analytical capabilities, which underpin operational performance, product quality and regulatory compliance across the value chain.
